Aimed at KS2 teachers and curriculum leads Inspire to Write is a writing development programme that explores how to enhance conditions for learning, inspiring opportunities to write across the curriculum and guiding writers towards greater independence. The Inspire to Write programme explores the ‘why’ and the ‘what’ of the national curriculum and also helps teachers to consider their own expectations of pupils’ writing, both within English lessons and in cross-curricular contexts. Approaches to ensure that writers carefully consider form, audience, purpose and style as part of the writing process are also explored, alongside text-centred approaches to teaching writing with reading at the heart of the curriculum.
Format: x2 afternoon online sessions (3 hours each), 1pm-4pm
